Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg signed a treaty stipulating that &#8218;internal borders may be crossed at any point without checks on persons&#8216;. What began as a bold step by five countries has developed into a free movement area that now encompasses 27 European countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Schengen Agreement has enabled millions of Europeans to travel, work and live without borders. It has come to symbolise a united Europe without barriers, and is now regarded as one of the European Union&#8217;s greatest achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A special anniversary offer in Remerschen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a cosmopolitan and pro-European organisation we would like to celebrate this anniversary.
