Peter Hengel, Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/youthhostels.lu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Luxembourg Youth Hostel Association<\/a>, welcomed the participants, as the event had been organised in collaboration with the hostel association and its <a href=\"https:\/\/cartejeunes.lu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Youth Card<\/a>. This determined the format and target audience of young participants. Natascha Lepage, who has been involved in Youth Climate Action for many years, moderated the evening alongside Anne Calteux from the <a href=\"https:\/\/luxembourg.representation.ec.europa.eu\/index_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EU Commission<\/a>. Also in attendance was Andreas Vuori from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snj.public.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Service National de Jeunesse<\/a>, who introduced programmes such as <a href=\"https:\/\/eurodesk.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EuroDesk<\/a> that help young people access volunteering opportunities and international organisations.<\/p>\n\n style=\"--marker-color:#7996D0;\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Youth participation<\/strong>: How can young people be involved in political decision-making more consistently and meaningfully \u2014 not just at major events like COP?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Misinformation<\/strong>: Many young people get their news from social media, which is a breeding ground for misinformation about sustainability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Social fairness in climate action<\/strong>: How can the EU ensure that no one is left behind, from social funds to fair, inclusive climate policies?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Energy supply<\/strong>: Renewable energy, investments such as Global Gateway, and the challenges surrounding raw material autonomy in nuclear energy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Housing and construction<\/strong>: New EU standards and funding programmes, and how renters can benefit from climate measures too.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public transport<\/strong>: Why free public transport alone isn&#8217;t enough to reduce car dependency in Luxembourg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Food and local production<\/strong>: From school gardens to the are forward-thinking, ask critical questions, and want to play an active role in shaping the future, whether that&#8217;s in relation to energy policy, housing, or mobility.
