Ettelbrück's transformation into a tourist destination

Several of Luxembourg's newspapers have recently released articles concerning the plans of transforming Ettelbrück into a tourist destination. The construction of a new youth hostel plays an important part in the city plans.

"Become a tourist guide for one day" is the slogan of the ministry's nation branding campaign. Everyone who feels particularly knowledgable about a certain area or region of a country can participate by registerering on the campaign's website. Various newspapers published corresponding articles.


New youth hostel in Esch-sur-Alzette to open soon

The Tageblatt as well as french speaking local newspaper L'Essentiel have both published articles regarding the imminent grand opening of the new youth hostel in Esch-sur-Alzette. It will be the tenth youth hostel to be part of the local network of hostels.


Luxembourg's youth hostelling network expanding

At the annual general meeting of Luxembourg's youth hostels, state secretary Francine Closener talked about the expansion of the local youth hostelling network. The new projects in Vianden and Ettelbrück, as well as the forthcoming opening of the youth hostel in Esch-sur-Alzette, were all mentioned in her speech. Various luxembourgish media outlets have published corresponding articles.


New youth hostel for Vianden

An article in the Luxemburger Wort about the plans to renovate the nursing hoome next to the Trinitarian church in Vianden. Including the adjacent parsonage, the entire complex is due to be convernted into a modern youth hostel.


New Luxembourg Card App

Just in time for the start of the tourist season, LFT (Luxembourg for Tourism) recently introduced its new Luxembourg Card App. In addition to the purchase of the card, the smartphone application provides useful information about local museums and touristic highlights. The app can now be downloaded free of charge in the App Store as well as on Google Play.


Luxembourg's well-known Mullerthal trail has yet again been officially awarded the prestigious "Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe" certificate by the European Ramblers' Association at Luxembourg's chamber of commerce.


Climbing courses for kids in Echternach

Just as in the previous years, the youth hostel in Echternach will offer climbing courses for kids in 2017. And just like last year, the courses are designed for kids aged 8 to 12 and take place at the youth hostel's very own climbing wall, on thursdays from 14:00 - 15:30.

Hiking-trip to Slovenia

From the 16th until 24th of September, Luxembourg's youth hostels are organising a hiking-trip to Slovenia. Among other things, participants are going to explore the country's nature reserve and its capital. Various Luxembourgish newspapers have published articles about the trip.
