Join the Luxembourg cycling community in this extraordinary challenge: collectively cycling the Earth's circumference (40,075 km) as many times as possible in 6 weeks. Transform your daily commutes into an eco-friendly adventure that's great for your health!

2. Sign up for the "GoGo VELO" campaign (available from September).
3. Activate the app during your bike rides from September 20 to October 31.

GoGo VELO is an initiative of ProVelo and Climate Alliance Luxembourg, supported by the Luxembourg Ministry of Mobility and Public Works.

From 26 September, just in time for the start of the new school year, the little climbing koalas aged 6 to 8 can once again use the climbing wall at the youth hostel in Echternach. Our Mini Koala climbing course offers an exciting and safe environment where children can develop their climbing skills and enjoy the many benefits of this sport.

Our course uses playful elements to motivate children and provide them with a fun experience. The focus is on improving motor skills, developing body balance and strengthening muscles. At the same time, we promote self-awareness and self-confidence by teaching children to recognise and assess their own limits.

No previous climbing experience is necessary. Places are limited so please book early.

Requirements:
The courses are aimed at children between 6 and 8 years old.

Dates:
1st trimester (26.09.-20.12.2024) as well as 2nd trimester (09.01. - 03.04.2025),
on Thursdays from 13.30 - 14.30 hrs. and from 14:45 - 15:45 hrs.

Just in time for the start of school on 26 September, the popular climbing course for children starts at the youth hostel in Echternach. The Koala Kids course is specially designed for children aged 9 to 12 and is suitable for both beginners and advanced climbers. Whether your child has climbing experience or is completely new to it, this course provides an exciting and challenging environment for all participants.

Our experienced climbing instructors will help children develop a range of skills including motor skills, body balance and muscle strength. In addition, the course encourages self-awareness and self-confidence as children learn to recognise and assess their own limitations.

Encouraged by patience and perseverance, children will achieve their goals and continually improve their climbing skills.

Places are limited so please book early.

About the ONLY Campaign

The ONLY awareness program targets Luxembourg partners who choose to offer their customers 100% Fairtrade-certified and organically grown bananas. These partners are committed to combating the massive use of pesticides and human rights violations in the banana supply chain, promoting fair conditions for producers and protecting the environment.

Launched in 2018 following alarming results from a study by the German magazine ÖKO-TEST, the initiative highlights the importance of Fairtrade standards in banana production. The study found that all tested conventional bananas contained highly dangerous pesticides, while Fairtrade bananas were rated good or very good due to the prohibition of hazardous pesticides.

Nine actors have committed to joining the ONLY program, including food service providers, retailers, and accommodation facilities like the Luxembourg Youth Hostels.

By participating in this campaign, we contribute to a more sustainable and ethical banana industry. Join us in making a difference!

Experience a guided day hike in the Mullerthal on Saturday, 19 October 2024, ending with dinner at the youth hostel in Echternach. The 13 km walk is suitable for adults and teenagers from the age of 16 and will be covered at an average speed of 4 km/h.

The tour starts after an eight-minute transfer from Echternach to Berdorf. The highlights around Berdorf are the Raiberhiel, the Sieweschleff and the climbing rocks on the Wanterbaach. The route takes you through the Wollefsschlucht back to Echternach, where the hike ends.

We meet at 1.15 pm at the youth hostel in Echternach. The bus leaves for Berdorf at 1.45 pm and returns to the youth hostel around 6.30 pm. There you will have the opportunity to take a shower before ending the day with a 3-course meal on the shores of Lake Echternach.

Calling all survivalist adventurers! On Halloween, the youth hostel Beaufort invites you to an action-packed evening for families with children aged 9 and above!

Forget the idea that bushcraft and survival is some kind of witchcraft - you will learn the essential survival techniques that really count in the forest: making a fire, building a shelter and identifying edible plants. We make it simple and accessible!

Join us on an exciting journey through the forest at night, where you will experience nature in a whole new way, without artificial light. Don't worry, there will be no scary moments of shock! Instead, we will explore the forest on a 4-kilometre trail with exciting games and discover a familiar environment in a completely new way.

As a grand finale, we'll gather around a cosy campfire, where you'll be served bread on a stick and a delicious stew. Enjoy your meal and be enchanted by the fascinating stories of the night!

On Saturday, 28 December 2024, a special Wellbeing Tour in Beaufort invites all experienced hikers to do something for body, mind and soul between the holidays. This guided hike is about 19 kilometres long and covers about 420 metres of altitude, making it a challenging tour for experienced hikers.

After the hike, a 3-course vegetarian dinner with local produce awaits you at the hostel. If you wish, you can complete the experience with an overnight stay at the hostel.

To take part in the hike you need to be in good physical condition and have experience of long distance walking. Sturdy footwear - preferably hiking or trail running shoes - is essential. This tour is for adults only and promises an unforgettable experience in the winter nature of Luxembourg.

Booking required as the number of participants is limited. Shower facilities on the spot.
