Field of application
These terms and conditions are applied in case of booking and payment of accommodation (beds in dormitories or rooms) of a client in the youth hostels in Luxembourg, which are managed by the Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO.
The prices listed on the site are in euros - all taxes and charges included.
The Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO reserves the right to change prices. Bookings already confirmed by the youth hostel are calculated at the rate applicable at the time of booking.
How to handle bookings?
Reservations are accepted for individuals, families or groups of up to six people for a maximum stay of seven consecutive nights. The number of nights spent in Luxembourg youth hostels must not exceed 30 overnights/year. Each booking will be confirmed by the Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO. Only the booking reference number, which is assigned to the customer at the time of booking, guarantees him a place on his arrival at the hostel. The day of arrival the reservation is valid until 21.00 hour. If arriving late, the customer has to inform the youth hostel before the end of the reservation.
If the client is too late and this without prior notice, or does not come at all, he is not entitled to a partial refund to compensation.
The minimum duration for any changes or cancellations is written on the confirmation. After this deadline, no changes or reimbursement may be granted. Every modification or cancellation must be made in writing to the leaders of the concerned youth hostel.
Method of payment
When booking via the website, payment is made by the secure system of digital payment of the Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO. Credit card Visa or MasterCard must be issued to the customer.
The Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO is committed to protecting the privacy of personal data of clients to third parties and for the exclusive use of these data in the context of the procedures required for the payment transaction.
Method and protection of payment
The payment of the reservation is made digitally by credit card for the Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO. The Swiss company for transactions SIX Group Services AG (Safer pay) guarantees for the security of transactions.
Using the website

- errors or viruses on your computer;
- downloading files or programs.
Changes of the general terms and conditions
The terms and conditions may be changed at any time. Before each new transaction, the client has to check the terms and conditions.
The Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO cannot be held liable under any circumstances for unused bookings as a result of circumstances for which the Youth Hostel Association Luxembourg NPO could neither foresee nor avoid even with the utmost caution.
These circumstances may include, without satisfying completeness: war, threat of war, riots, hostilities, strikes or other trade union actions, natural disasters, fires, terrorist activities, technical problems with public transport, the closure of airports or ports, cancellation of ferry, quarantine, epidemics, weather conditions, government intervention or other circumstances beyond our control.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are subject to the grand ducal law. Contentious issues belong to the jurisdiction of the courts of the district of Luxembourg.
Terms of cancellation for individuals and families
In case of a cancellation more than 28 days before the arrival date, no fee will be charged.
In case of a cancellation less than 28 days before the arrival date, a charge equivalent to 15 % of the booking value will be incurred.
In case of a cancellation less than 24 hours before the arrival date or in case of no-show, the total booking value will be incurred.
Terms of cancellation for group reservations with a booking contract (from the end of option)
If canceled more than 28 days prior to arrival a fee of 5 % of the total amount will be charged.
If canceled less than 28 days prior to arrival, a charge of 15 % of the total amount will be charged.
If canceled less than 7 days prior to arrival or no-show, the total amount will be retained.
Information and house rules
Out of consideration for other guests, the hostel must be quiet from 10.00 p.m. until 6.30 a.m.
It is not allowed to smoke in the building. Preparation of meals, as well as consuming alcohol, is not permitted in your room. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased and consumed at the cafeteria provided the guest is at least 16 years of age.
It is not allowed to take food from the breakfast buffet with you.
The use of bedding is mandatory.
For security reasons, the window can only be set in a tilted position.
Please do never leave your luggage or other valuables unattended. We decline all responsibility.
It is strictly prohibited to invite third parties to the dorms. Access to any dorm is exclusively reserved to guests staying overnight.
For all damage caused in our house, please contact the reception desk immediately.
Animals are not permitted. Guide dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
It is not allowed to sell any items or services for its own account or that of a third party.
The youth hostels are committed to environmental protection and nature conservation. Therefore, we ask you to separate waste and to use energy and water responsibly. When leaving the room, please turn off the heating, shut the window and turn off the light.
