Social distancing, staying at home and Corona virus are unfortunately today’s reality. So what can you do whilst staying in your four walls? We’d like to give you some tips during these special times on how to spend your time in a useful way.
Prepare now, enjoy later!
You had to cancel or postpone your travels to Luxembourg and its youth hostels? Unfortunately, you don’t have the choice at the moment. But why not prepare your next travel in a proper way? Read a guide about your future destination – the Grand-Duchy of course - and even learn the language – or at least some of the most common words. You’ll surely enjoy your next holidays even more.
Enjoy nature at its best
As the fitness studios, swimming pools and sports halls are closed, why not enjoy nature while engaging in a sports activity? Luckily nature is open to everyone, so put on your hiking shoes and discover the beautiful trails throughout the Grand-Duchy. If you’d rather bike and discover the country on wheels, be nature’s guest and enjoy your ride!
Lose yourself in literature
Now is the time to enjoy a book! If you’re one of those persons putting off reading a book because you’ve other more important things to do, well now you’re out of excuses. Choose a book and make yourself comfy on your couch, in your garden chair or on your terrace and just read and let your mind wander! Or why not read a guide about the Grand-Duchy? Whether you’re an inhabitant or a foreigner you’ll surely discover some interesting places to visit in the small Luxembourg.
Crafting is your new hobby
Why not use your time in a creative way? Now it’s time to discover some arts and crafts you never even heard of or you always wanted to try but never had time to do so. Knitting, sewing, crocheting, painting – just try it! Crafting is a great stress relief, boosts your confidence and enhances brain activity – just what you need at the moment.
If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. (Cicero, Roman orator and writer)
If you don’t have a garden, why not create one and enjoy growing your own vegetables and colorful flowers. You don’t need much to start with, not even a green thumb and you’ll be rewarded with delicious food and gorgeous blossoms.
How game are you?
If you’re stuck at home with your partner or/and your children, a good pastime are board games. They’re not only entertainment but reduce stress, lower blood pressure, train your memory and cognitive skills and even grow your immune system. Whatever you choose to play, just enjoy your family time together and forget about the rest of the world.
