The hostel in a nutshell

Newly renovated, Dalur HI Hostel is a family friendly eco-hostel and café, located in a quiet and green area of Reykjavík called Laugardalur. The biggest swimming pool of Reykjavík, Laugardalslaug, is only a 2 minute walk away. Known for being the first Hostel in Reykjavík, it offers a variety of accommodation options: private rooms, shared dorms (including 100% female dormitories), rooms with ensuite facilities, and budget rooms with shared facilities. 

Two guests kitchens are available, a terrace with a BBQ, and a big common area / co-working with a nice Café to enjoy some good coffee and home-made pastries.

The hostel is well suited for groups of all sizes, families of all sizes, and individuals alike. There is free parking on site and complimentary charging of guests' electric cars.

Dalur HI Hostel at Reykjavik proudly holds the SWAN - the Nordic Sustainability Eco-label. This certificate has a strict criteria that guides the operation of the hostel to take ambitious environmental requirements and a strict approach to the environmental performance connected to energy, water, food waste, biological diversity, chemicals and procurement.

Dalur HI Hostel also holds the accessibility certificate “accessible for all” from the Icelandic Tourism Board.
