Hello everyone! Did you know that International Earth Day was held on the 22nd of April? It was the perfect opportunity to get out into nature and become more environmentally aware. And what better way to celebrate Earth Day than to go on a hike with us and discover the beautiful trails of Vianden? That's exactly what we did at the Earth Hike - season opening in Vianden!

For those unfamiliar with International Earth Day, it is an annual event held on the 22nd of April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of taking care of our planet and encourages individuals and organisations to take action.

Our Earth Hike in Vianden began around 11:30 am, with 10 participants, including our guide Jeannot, ready to embark on a journey through the stunning landscape. With a walking speed of about 4 km/h, we were able to take in the breathtaking views of the valley and discover the atypical sights of Vianden.

We started our journey in the town of Vianden, passing by the iconic Castle of Vianden and the Rundturm am Huesebuer. We then visited the Victor Hugo house and the church of Saint-Nicols. Another interesting sight for the group was the cemetery with its beautiful Mausoleums.

As we continued our hike, we had the opportunity to visit the Vianden power station, which is a pumped storage power station, and the Centre Culturel "Larei" in Vianden. However, the real attraction of our journey was the Chairlift above Vianden, where we got to experience the stunning panoramic views of the forest Saang and the meadow Plätz from the Point de Vue Victor Hugo.

We also hiked the Urdallpromenade to Biwels, which was another fantastic highlight of the day. The trail took us through some of the most breathtaking landscapes, and we had plenty of opportunities to take photos and capture the beauty of the surroundings.

The participants also had the time to do some geocaching along the hike, which was a fun way to explore the area.

The finale took place at the youth hostel in Vianden, where we were treated to a delicious dinner.

Overall, the Earth Hike in Vianden was a memorable experience for everyone involved. It was a perfect opportunity to connect with nature, promote environmental awareness, and discover the beauty of the region. Our guide Jeannot was excellent, providing us with interesting insights and ensuring we stayed on track throughout the hike.

If you're planning a trip to Vianden and seeking an unforgettable hiking experience, we highly recommend exploring the region's trails.
