Mëllerdall Outdoor! – Training: topographical map, compass and orientation in nature

Listen up nature lovers and fans of outdoor activities! As part of the LEADER project ‘Mëllerdall Outdoor!’, Luxembourg’s youth hostels and its regional partners offer a series of training courses for the outdoor and adventure guide, paving the way for future cooperative activities. The training is directed at participants, who already work with groups and who would like to expand their methods and be able to work within the framework of the new programmes in the Mullerthal region – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland.

Description of the training course:
What’s the meaning of the scales and other details on a topographical map? These questions will be answered during this workshop. The participants will also learn how to guide a group. We are working with different methods such as orienteering (participants use a map and compass to navigate from point to point in an unfamiliar terrain) and letterboxing (small weatherproof boxes need to be found with the help of clues, a map and a compass).
