Luxembourg

The Capital of the Grand-Duchy was founded in 963.

It is the seat of the government and the official residence of the Grand-Duke. Numerous banks and European institutions have also settled in the Capital. The vast green spaces as well as the historical city center - transformed almost completely into a pedestrian zone - provide the visitor with leisure, a cultural experience and comfortable shopping.

The excavations of the castle on the "Bock" rock, the Old Town, the casemates and the ruins of the fortifications are listed as world heritage by the UNESCO.

Main places of interest:

- The Wenzel walk leads you from the fortification walls to the medieval houses lining the Alzette river
- The grand ducal palace with its renaissance front built in 1574
- The “Notre Dame” cathedral from the 17th century
- The “casemates”: more than 17 km of underground galleries
- The ruins of the castle "Bock"
- The historical houses of the government district and on “fishmarket”
