The ‘Maison Relais Schengen’ childcare centre welcomes schoolchildren aged 3 to 12 and is based around the three central schools in Remerschen, Bech-Kleinmacher and Elvange.
The main purpose of the daycare centre is to provide childcare for pupils from the municipality of Schengen outside school hours and during the holidays. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., or from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for pre-school children. Morning care is available before school, and a meal prepared by the youth hostel is provided at lunchtime. The day centre also offers homework supervision and educational activities and projects in the afternoon.
This is an inclusive day care centre where each child is given special attention. The centre constantly strives to identify the needs of each child when designing the premises, activities and leisure pursuits. Participation, i.e. the involvement and co-decision-making of the children, is particularly important. This is why all activities, projects and ideas originate from the children’s wishes, interests and recognised needs. The open concept gives children the freedom to choose which functional areas or whom they wish to spend their free time with at the daycare centre.

- 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: lunch and free play time
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- 4:00–5:30 p.m.: snack followed by supervised homework (except Fridays)
- 5:30–7:00 p.m.: playtime, projects and leisure activities
Tuesday and Thursday
- 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: homework assistance
- 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: time for games, projects and leisure activities

Would you like to
register your child?
In May, we invite parents to make appointments during two consecutive weeks so that they can enroll or re-enroll their children. To this end, an email containing the dates and necessary forms is sent to all parents. Parents enrolling their children for the first time can also obtain this information from the municipality.
Parents who enroll their children during the school year can contact the office to make an appointment.
