This picturesque hike starts at the youth hostel in Luxembourg City. The trail leads first through the idyllic Bambësch forest and then through the impressive Mamer valley. It ends at the historic castle of Hollenfels and the youth hostel opposite.

Some planning and equipment tips for hikers
To plan your route, you will need to:
- search for a route beforehand based on length, difficulty and altitude,
- connect to the GPS or application, then download the GPX files and maps to use offline,
- check the weather forecast,
- tell someone about the route,
- bring plenty of water and snacks.
In terms of equipment, you’ll need:
- sturdy hiking boots with a good tread,
- weatherproof clothing (layering principle),
- a small backpack with water, snacks and a change of clothes,
- sun protection,
- a first-aid kit,
- a mobile phone with a full battery and an external battery.
The better prepared and equipped you are, the more you’ll be able to enjoy your trek.
