In 2025, we…
- …hosted over 150.000 guests per year from over 100 different countries.
- …employed over 300 members of staff from almost 50 different countries.
- …spent over 370.000 € on Luxembourgish food & beverage products, over 72.000 € on organic products, over 29.000 € eon Fairtrade products, and over 45.000 € on eco-certified cleaning products.
- …hosted 589 birthday parties for 6.804 children attending.
- …organised over 700 educational activities for over 11.500 attendees.
- …launched a new website that normes modern accessibility standards.
- …were awarded an accessibility certification for our hostel in Remerschen, taking the total accessibility certified hostels up to 5.
The main pillars of our work
People
Since our foundation over 90 years ago, our principal objective has always been to create inclusive spaces where people from different backgrounds can meet, learn and feel welcome.
But it’s not just about travellers, it’s also about the people who work for us: Youth hostels Luxembourg employs over 300 people from almost 50 different countries. Who better in charge of creating a welcoming atmosphere for a diverse crowd than a diverse staff?
Nature conservation
Nature conservation is an integral part of who we are and how we operate. We recognise our responsibility to use resources responsibly and minimise our environmental impact in an increasingly warming world. But our commitment to protecting nature goes beyond sustainability alone: with seven of our nine hostels located in rural settings, in small towns and villages, the natural environment is an essential part of the experience we offer to our guests. By protecting and preserving these environments, we not only contribute to a more sustainable future, but also help safeguard the very qualities that make our hostels special.
Community
Within our hostel network, we believe that our role goes beyond welcoming international guests. We want to be an active and integral part of the communities we are based in, creating spaces that bring people together. By building strong ties with our local communities and opening our doors to everyone, we aim to make our hostels vibrant, inclusive spaces that celebrate cultural exchange and offer programmes and activities for guests from near and far.
Responsible travel
Helping our guests from around the world make informed choices and experiencing destinations responsibly remains a key part of our mission and goals. It’s for this reason that we have published tips for sustainable tourism in Luxembourg. And because we want you to be part of this journey, we encourage you to let us know if there is something you would like to see added to those tips.
