The Hostelling International membership card
The Hostelling International card is a membership card for youth hostels around the world. Becoming a member offers many more benefits than simply owning the card.
By becoming a member, you join one of the world’s largest non-profit organisations, which works to bring people together, promote youth tourism, and respect the environment.
Your membership fee will contribute towards maintaining, improving and constantly expanding the youth hostel network.

Say goodbye to physical cards and hello to convenience!
Our digital card allows you to access your membership easily from your smartphone, saving paper and reducing printing and postage costs.
Your membership card will be sent to you by email. You can then save it to your smartphone wallet and/or the Klarna app. It is therefore important that we have your correct email address; otherwise, you will not receive your card.
But that’s not all! We are making payments easier than ever. You can now pay online at the time of renewal by credit card or via the Payconiq app.
Where can one buy the card?
You can also purchase your membership card directly from the youth hostel of your choice.
Please note that to become a member of our association, you must be a Luxembourg resident. If you do not reside in Luxembourg, please contact your national federation.

Would you like to support youth hostels and become part of the wider youth hostel community? Would you also like the opportunity to vote each year and support the board of directors?
Contact us to apply for an extended membership. The Luxembourg Youth Hostels Association comprises more than just regular members. Anyone who wishes to support the association’s values and principles can apply to become an associate member. As an associate member, you have the right to vote at our annual general meeting. However, to apply for extended membership, you must first be a regular member.
