Exciting nature experiences in the Mullerthal region-Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland

The diverse landscape of the Mullerthal region – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland offers the ideal setting for outdoor activities. This is where the LEADER project ‘Mëllerdall Oudoor!’, launched by the Luxembourg youth hostels, comes in. The existing tourist offer was to be complemented by experiential education and team-building activities in the great outdoors. Through our many years of experience in the field of social, sporting and educational tourism, the following programmes developed and created.

Under tension – mobile low rope course

‘Hourglass’, ‘Mohawk-Walk’ and ‘Diverging-Vee’ are the names of different mobile low rope courses. The participants need to help each other and are responsible for one another. During the morning, you learn how to use the rope course. The difficulty of the course is adapted to the group. Trust, responsibility, respect and communication are the keywords. During the afternoon, we will work in a process-oriented way on the course.

Intuitive archery

Concentration and body tension are the keys to success in archery. You start playfully with simple exercises around bow and arrow. Set goals! Self-confidence and body tension require active cooperation from all participants and are the key to individual success. At the end of the day, you may organise a fun tournament for the whole group. If the group is larger than 15 participants, we will split the group so that the programme takes place in the morning and afternoon.

A backpack full of adventures

The youth hostels in the Mullerthal region – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland with its forest and rocky landscape provide the perfect setting for your personal forest adventure. The adventure backpack invites you to rediscover the seemingly familiar. With the help of our educational games book - filled to the brim with great game ideas - and our adventure backpack with lots of tools and materials, you’re ready for your outdoor adventure. The games are all ready to play. It is available to all groups on request and does not include a personal guide.

Geocaching

During this classic geocaching tour, the participants are sent on a discovery journey in small groups in order to solve many a puzzle. Cleverness, concentration and cooperation will help you solve the puzzles that lie ahead of you on the way to the treasure. Only the right solutions will lead you to the goal. On this tour, the participants will learn how to use a GPS device and explore the flora and fauna of the region.

Team total – cooperative adventure tasks

The way is - sometimes - the goal. We start with physical activity and lots of fun. We approach the topics of trust and cooperation together. A class contract, for example, can be drawn at the end of the all-day activity. We work with cooperation tasks and methods from experiential education. The complexity of the tasks is flexibly adapted to the group in order that the participants are challenged but never overstrained. The joint development of solution strategies in the group requires the cooperation of all and offers a protected framework to try out new patterns of action in the group/class.
